Mickey Waffles with mix recipe

 

Mickey Waffles have magical power to them. Every time I make mickey waffles, our house turns into a magical morning, It reminds us of Mickey waffles at Disney World. 

Here is my recipe

Waffle and pancake mix I double this recipe and then store it in a rubber maid container.

8 cups of flour- you choose- I like to mix whole wheat with unbleached flour- 1/2 and 1/2

1/4 cup of sugar

2 Table Spoons of baking powder

1 tablespoon of baking soda

1 teaspoon of salt- optional in my opinion.

Mix all of this in a mixer with a whisk if you have one, or by hand. You will have lots of mix leftover- I use 4 cups of mix each time I make waffles, that gets me about 16 waffles for my family- great for leftovers. 

Now we can make the waffles, 

2 cups of waffle mix

2 eggs

4 tablespoons or 1/2 a stick of butter 

3/4 cup of buttermilk- (I use powder buttermilk, and add water to it.)

1 cup of milk- I like 2% but whole milk will make the waffles really thick - more like a waffle. 2% is a good second choice.

1 teaspoon of vanilla- I sometimes forget- and it's all right if you do :)

Mix, don't mix too much, you want to see lumps in your batter. once your waffle iron is heated, fill the batter in the waffle iron.

I thought I would share my top 5 Silhouette projects I have done and posted about!

Birthday Bouquet

 My Favorite project to do with the Cameo Silhouette is to make flowers, So This post was a favorite of my all around, enjoyable to create, fun to write about, and entertaining to see where it leads me! This project would also work well for any wedding bouquet, just add more flowers. Need an impressive hostess gift that will be cherished, you got it! (frugal alert: I buy vases at my consignment shops for about a dollar!) 

Christmas tree stencil card

I am a mixed media artist by Nature, and this project in one of my favorite projects, I like to use what I have on hand, ( use what you got.)  So I came up with a way to make a bunch of Christmas cards that are all unique in a way, that doesn't break the bank but looks like you really spent a ton of time on. I had a lot of fun playing with watercolor techniques, this project is an open-ended one, use a stencil that you find on the Silhouette Desing Store, resize it to fit your card size, and play with watercolor. You don't have to be a seasoned watercolorist to do this card. Instead of Christmas trees do flower stencil, or a geometric stencil, So many ideas!

Santa washi tape

Crafting with the Cameo Silhouette and Washi Tape is a match made in heaven! Christmas can bring out the best in the crafting world, and although this is all about Santa, can't you see the colors and the theme to change for any type of season, Washi tape adds just enough pizazz to make clean designs look amazing! Silhouette Mint and watercolor pairs nicely together, I love that I can design stamps to fit my size, and my style, as always I wanted the mixed media(watercolor and ink) to stand on its own, add a bit of stamping to go with it and you have a really nice card. I loved how both turned out. This project is great for those color challenges that are popular right now!

A flower candle holder is perfect for so many occasions. I like how easy and elegant this project was to make. It's a beautiful piece that makes me smile when I see it in my house. I like it because it only takes two Design Store files flowers and a candle holder to make, and they are both files that I use on a semi-regular basis, both files are very open ended.








As you can see, I am a crafter that loves to use clean and simple design elements to enhance the project, I love watercolor and mixed media to produce a unique piece that doesn't break the bank, or dip into my family's grocery budget! (see my post about why I use coupons and try to save money.) 

Birthday Pancakes

Ok I have two ways that you can make these amazing pancakes, worthy of a birthday breakfast (especially for kids.) Your going to go crazy if you knew how incredible easy it is to make these. (again I have two ways, the crazy easy way or Lisa's way (I like to make more work for myself, seriously I don't know why, but I do.

Crazy easy Birthday pancakes:
Mix equal parts of non buttermilk pancake mix and white or yellow cake mix together So if your mix calls for 2 cups of mix, use one cup of each, if the batter seems to think, add a small amount of milk untill you get the right consistancy. fold in sprinkles, (about 1/4 cup) Follow the wet ingredients directions on the box, and cook, Top with cream cheese frosting or butter cream frosting or regular syrup. Add sprinkles to the pan cake

The Lisa Way
use a homemade mix, that you already prepared weeks before hand, do one cup of cake mix and one cup of pancake mix, add your eggs, oil, butter, milk, and 1/4 cup of sprinkles. cook as you would regular pancakes. Top with home made frosting (pictured was a meringue frosting, basically you whip egg whites and sugar until it looks like marshmallow. Fall shape Silhouette Chalange

I love the fall and the one sure sign of fall for our family is Yep, football! This is a simple but cute and perfect card for any foot ball fan, and it doesn't hurt to make a card for Dear Husband and cousin. I love the texture of the football it sets off the card,  here's my supply list and simple instructions.

Silhouette Files I used: football and easel card-pumpkin banner (just used the easel back part)
Brown card stock
Basket Ball textured paper (that is what I had on hand and the football paper was too brown for me.)
Whit card stock

1. offset the foot ball, a tad bigger than the foot ball (for the brown bass of the foot ball)
2. Re-size the easel card back to fit just under the football. You just don't wan the card base to be wider than the football. Then cut the offset foot ball and the card base
3. Cut out the shape of the regular size of the foot ball
4 Cut out the lace's and stripes to the football in white card stock.
5. type a sentiment and cut it out. (I just printed the sentiment in brown type and then cut it on my paper cutter- faster than using print and cut since it's a simple square cut out.)
6. assemble card- make sure that you glue the front side on the tab for the card to fold into an easel.

I will admit this was a fun card to make and I have totally gotten onto the easel back card band wagon and am having fun with this cute little creations!
