some suggestions that the blog posts are:

Most companies have coupons that they send out to loyal customers. So, take a moment and contact a new company to see if you can score some great coupons, possibly even for free products.
Here are a few suggestions when contacting the companies:
  • Try to stay positive. Complement them on a new product or how much you or your family enjoy it. If you have a complaint, try to say what you have to say in a positive way.
  • You can offer suggestions on how they might improve their products. Maybe offer flavor suggestions, etc.
  • And be sure to include your contact info when you write to them including your address.
I would like to add, that I have a simple email text that I just copy and paste, I just add what I need and it takes little time, I have gotten Mccormiks spice, Jiff, Skippy, Welch's, Unilever coupons, it's such a great way to grow your coupon supply most don't expire for 6 months or so!

How to Save On…

How to Save on Dining at a Restaurant

Get savvy about menu tricks. How you navigate the menu can affect the amount you spend. For example, if the restaurant doesn’t print dollar signs with the prices (think 15 instead of $15), imagine that they are there. Otherwise, you will tend to spend 8 percent more per person, according to a recent study by the Culinary Institute of America and the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. And think twice about selections printed on a menu’s top right-hand corner. Your eye goes there first, “so that’s where many eateries list their most expensive plates,” says Gregg Rapp, a menu consultant based in Palm Springs, California.

Doggie-bag your vino. You get the best deal when you order wine by the bottle. But what if you don’t finish the Chianti? No problem. All 50 states now have laws allowing you to take it with you. Check with the restaurant to find out how to package it and transport it home.

Buy a gift certificate. Go to Restaurant.com to purchase one that’s redeemable for $25 but costs you just $10. (I have used this and love it. Its great if your going out of town to the city, like Des Monies or bigger. They even have code often to get the gift certificate for less than the $10. Right now you can use the code ENJOY to get it 75% off. This offer ends 9-30-11)

Make a reservation. Even if you never wait for a table at your favorite haunt, use the no-cost booking service Opentable.com. You’ll earn points toward dining cheques—gift certificates you can redeem at any of the site’s 13,000 partners.

Welcome mom's

Coupon SAHM I AM, after toddler story time our first class
Jenny, Anya, and I feel pretty awesome having a good crowd come out and listen to us ramble on how to use coupons at our coupon class last night, we love sharing our talent of saving money (our hubbies can't complain either) As this is a new blog, (it's been up about 2 weeks,) We want you to know that we take saving money seriously. We understand that in our society us women folk are the ones that are "in charge" of what the family eats, We take this very seriously, sometimes at the end of the month we will slip in pb and j for supper, and the dreaded grill cheese instead of let's say stake for supper but as women I think it's great that we have the freedom to chose what our family eats. That is why we felt so strongly to make a blog about saving money and how to put food on the table, we all know there is a better way to save money, keep our family healthy and not go crazy at the grocery store, unless you use your coupons, then you can call yourself the crazy coupon lady, like my husband and friends call me.
We hope you enjoy our blog, leave comments, we are self absorb and love when people have something to say to us, We hope this is a blog that you can come too to get inspired to do your grocery shopping without spending too much money

Happy Savings

Baby Steps to saving money with coupons Step One

Ready to start couponning  but might be a little shy? Let us show you how. Although there is no fast way to save big with your coupons, you will find that a lot of baby steps will lead to a bunch of savings by using coupons. I feel that as soon as you start seeing the rewards of using coupons you will feel empowered saving at least 60% on your grocery bill every time. These are your baby steps:

1st step, learn how to shop. Yep it's a learning curve that no one told me about, a trial and error sort of thing. Of course you want to shop the way that works best for you, however you might try some of these ideas to see what works the best.
1. always go shopping with a list.  I seem to buy way to much stuff, or junk that I don't use when I don't follow my list, or I forget the one thing I went into the store to get. For example, opps I forgot the milk again..GRR right?

2. plan your menu ahead of time, and go shopping weekly. That's right no more running to the store in the afternoon and spending who knows how much.  And no more major monthly shopping trips. As a mom who have done both, the monthly shopping trip is the worst, you spend more than you should and yet you are still going to the store in a couple of days for produce, yet again spending money on other things.
3 Going to the grocery store a lot. For me, I usually am in the store at least three times per week but only buy my groceries once a week if I can get away with it. What the heck am I doing in the Grocery store the other two times? I am looking for sales, unadvertised deals and seeing when the produce  get stocked and planning my shopping trip, making notes on if I need to find a coupon for an item that is on sale that I missed. Some stores, will even raise their prices 1 or 2 cents during the weekend because they can get away with it. if I am going grocery shopping I am looking for the best deal  I can get, just like buying a car.
4. Stocking up on the Item at it's cheapest price. Have most of your item on that list should be sale items, or items that have coupons with them or if you are really good the items on your list will be on sale with a coupon.

Saving with Coupon Mom

One of the ways that you can save money with coupons is by visiting Couponmom.com this is my go to website when I am going to go to the grocery store. This website is a bit different then the other coupon blogs, let me explain: instead of looking at the really awesome deal some on was able to score half a nation away (sometimes the deal was on a clearance item in Ca some one in IA will never be able to get right?) So this website you can say ok I wan to know what kind of deals are at my local grocery store ( they have a list for just about every store in each state)  and not only that I only want to pay less than 50% on groceries. So this is what you do:

1. Go to http://www.couponmom.com/ login ( I highly recommend you get an account with her)
2. Click on Grocery Deal By State, up at the top second button from the left. find the state you are in and the store, or if you want a national chain store click on that store at the top of the page
3. Click on the store, and then the fun begins, there is a collum that says percentage saved click on the arrow pointing down, that will then give you the list of all the items that are a percentage off starting from the highest to lowest percentage off.
4. click on the box of the deals that you want to take advantage of and then click the the button "show select deals" that will open up another window, you can then print that list and take it to your grocery store or if you like an email, you can send it to you in an email if you are loged in.
I love this feature, I can tell if something is really a good deal or not as good of a deal as I thought and then can pass on it if it's not that great of a deal. My rule is that if I have a coupon and it's at lest 55% off I use that deal scenario.

For more information on how to use Couponmom.com go to
http://www.couponmom.com/tutorials-416
or if you are at the website click on learn to coupon. I will say that I took a "naptime" (about one hour) to learn all about the website, however it's pretty self explanatory.

Good Luck, if you use this website right you might not ever have to pay full price for anything at the grocery store again!
